30th April is International Jazz Day

It is said that more than a musical genre, jazz is a witness and a protagonist of modern history. International Jazz Day is chaired and led by Irina Bokova, UNESCO Director General, and legendary jazz pianist and composer Herbie Hancock, who serves as a UNESCO Ambassador for Intercultural Dialogue and Chairman of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz.

Diggin' Crates

It's International Record Store Day, and I should be hangin' in my favorite store, digging in vinyl crates. But... Our new media manager and video person - we call him Evil Eye - is bugging me about finding old pictures, press material and other crap from the old days. So instead of working on that horn arrangement I dreamed about, I'm digging in the dusty crates from the last century. Hoping this all will make you peeps happy...

BFE Goes Social

Brooklyn Funk Essentials are adding more Social Media, such as Google+, Tumblr, Flickr and Twitter to their already existing Facebook and MySpace accounts, as their forums of choice when communicating with fans. Also our new website will function as a central hub for all BFE content.

Stay tuned.
